I have at last completed Fish Bone Alley 4; The Birching. Steve, the artist, is working on the cover and once done I’ll have the book formatted for print and eBooks ready to publish ‘hopefully’ by the end of July to mid-August.
Before Xmas I entered 6 song lyrics in the UK International Song Contest and was pleased to have received 5 stars for 5 of them. 3 of which went into the semi-finals but didn’t make the finals.
I have also pressed on with editing and proof reading my collection of short stories. A mix of genres from comedy, twist in the tail and horror. I intend publishing these after FBA 4, but am also considering sending them to a agency first for a detailed review.
Having fallen behind with my writing because of a lack of motivation, hence the long period between blogs, I have turned a corner and am back on track. A blog on ‘Getting Motivated’ would also be a good idea. Thank you.

Introverted as a child I would lose myself in books while dreaming of becoming an author.
When asked what I wanted to be when I left school I'd inwardly scream 'An Author'
Only kids from my background weren't expected- or encouraged- to harbour unrealistic asperations. I became a carpenter apprentice on £2-10 shillings a week.
Later I worked in the meat industry despite trying to avoid it, but it was here that I grew up and nurtured my off the wall humour via some of the craziest characters I ever knew.
I spent the last ten years of my working life lecturing, training and assessing apprentices.
Many of us could be bitter that we never had the opportunities or the privilege's given to the more fortunate to touch the sky while we were still young. Personally; I prefer to ride the waves and look forwards rather than backwards and drown in regret.
